Jennifer with a capitol T.

Hi Misty,
I know Misty from way back. I am asking about soy in the coffee stands for lactos intolerant people. Did you say rice milk might be an option for someone that has to have that "latte"? Not me but I love to pass on your nutrition information to my friends.

She is on Facebook too, so I will have to suggest you as a friend. Thank you for all your work researching and studying.
Sincerely,
Jennifer H.

Hello Jennifer

Thank you for your question!

It is my opinion as well as many other nutrition professionals that blood sugar regulation is the most important component of a healthy lifestyle.

Not only does regulation of blood sugar control weight but it also controls the aging process and everything that comes along with it from strong cell membranes to a healthy functioning brain.

That being said Jennifer, Rice Milk contributes to elevated blood glucose therefore, it's not a wise choice for long term health. Again, it's processed and isolated from other components that have natural blood sugar regulation like the bran of the rice.

An alternative for someone who is lactose intolerant would be coconut milk. However, I understand when one is at a coffee shop, the choices are limited.

For others reading, soy milk is not fit for human consumption as it down regulates the thyroid, causes gut lining damage and is estrogenic. Check out our Foods to Avoid page for further soy milk reference.

Thank you again Jennifer and as always,
In good health!
Misty

Another good option I neglected to mention is almond milk.

When making changes that go against conventional wisdom and supply, we often need to accommodate ourselves in unusual manners so your friend might want to bring a small container with her and pour her own creamer or request the clerk to do so.

I make accommodations for my eating frequently especially while traveling.

It's not unusual to see me on a flight with bacon. It travels well, it's high in fat so it curbs my appetite until I can get to quality food.

As always,
In good health
Misty
